Independent students
The College of the Resurrection offers you the unique opportunity to combine a superb academic education at one of the world’s leading research universities with life as part of a residential Christian community.
Full-time or part-time?
You can choose to study full-time or part-time at Mirfield. Full-time students can take full advantage of all the opportunities available here, while part-time study also works extremely well in allowing you to continue to work, minister or provide care to dependants while also studying. One option for part-time study is the professional development route.
Sabbaticals
We welcome lay and ordained Christian ministers who would like to follow an independent course of study and research, or who’d like to spend time living as part of the college community as part of their sabbatical leave. Read more information about sabbaticals at Mirfield.
Fees
Independent students at the College of the Resurrection follow University of Sheffield programmes and are therefore charged the standard tuition fees for those. For more information, visit the University of Sheffield website. If you’d like to make further informal inquiries concerning tuition fees or maintenance costs for students at the College of the Resurrection, please contact us.
International students
The College of the Resurrection at Mirfield regularly welcomes ordinands and clergy from overseas to live in college while studying for undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees with us here in the UK. Students benefit from a safe, comfortable and friendly environment; access to outstanding theological libraries; and teaching shared between our own specialist staff and the University of Sheffield (one of the UK’s leading universities).
Admission criteria for international students
The college welcomes ordinands and priests from churches within the Anglican Communion as well as other churches with which the Church of England is in full communion.
Fees for international students
Overseas students who intend to study at the college for more than a year will pay the same fixed fee for each year of their course, which will help you plan your finances for the duration of the course. Please contact us for information about tuition fees and details of maintenance (living) costs for students.
