Advent Retreat at College
Saturday 28th November 2009
The College was delighted to welcome Fr Simon Holden CR as our Advent Retreat Conductor for 2009.
The Advent Retreat takes place each year at the College over the weekend of Advent Sunday. In the context of a busy term, the Retreat offers students an invaluable opportunity to pause to spend forty-eight hours in prayer, in quietness, and in rest.
Throughout the Retreat, we join the monastic Community of the Resurrection for its times of corporate prayer, including the beautiful and unique Vigil of the Resurrection on Saturday evening.
A highlight of the Retreat for most members of the College is the series of addresses given by the Retreat Conductor. This year, our three Retreat Addresses, given in the Community's Retreat House, were entitled Memory, Living in the Present, and Longing.
We are grateful to the Community for their generous hospitality over the weekend of the Retreat.
