Mirfield Liturgical Institute
The College and Community of the Resurrection have together long been a centre of excellence in liturgical study – providing world-class teaching and research, libraries and other learning facilities. The Liturgical Institute was launched in March 2008 to build on that strength.
The Institute works as an integral part of the College, in partnership with the University of Sheffield, one of the world’s leading research universities.
Our vision is to:
- serve the Churches by promoting best practice;
- serve the academy as a flourishing centre of research;
- bring together students, clergy, and researchers in collaboration.
We run an MA programme in Liturgy. The programme attracts students from within and outside the UK, and can be completed with either part-time and full-time study.

For those who already have a relevant Master’s degree, we also offer opportunities to study for a PhD in Liturgical Studies through the Institute.
The Director of the Institute
The Institute is led by the Revd Dr Ben Gordon-Taylor. To find out more about the work of the Institute, or to enquire about studying at the Institute, click here.
