Reflection and Formation in College

Reflection and Formation in College

Both reflective practice and theological reflection happen in College on an individual basis and informally through talking with friends or Tutors. Indeed, conversation forms a vital part of the community of formation which the College of the Resurrection has always sought to be. We are dedicated to the formation of Christian character and to the task of equipping ordinands to begin new ministries in the Church of God. So informal patterns of formation continue to go hand in hand with, and to support, the more formal patterns of reflective practice and theological reflection.

These more formal patterns comprise a programme of meetings, both individually with Tutors and as part of reflective groups led by a member of the academic staff. These look at experiences, both within college and on placements, and they provide a supportive environment in which we can examine individual and corporate responses to situations, and consider wider theological questions. Students at the College engage in individual reflection in preparation for these formal meetings.
