Modules

The course is made up of an introductory module entitled "Pastoral Theology – Methods, Practice and Reflection", four other taught modules, and a 12,000 word dissertation. The list of taught modules, each of which is normally assessed by a 6,000 word essay, varies from year to year. The list includes:

• Research Module 
(subject of your choice)
• Ecclesiology
• Cistercian Studies
• Liturgy Culture and Context
• Pastoral Theology - Ministry and Care
• The Spirit and the Church
• Philosophy and Christian Ethics
• Christian Tradition and Engagement in the World
• Interpretation & Use of Scripture (New Testament)
• Christian Tradition and Ways of Discipleship

Students may choose to take one of their modules from an MA course in another discipline taught at the University of Leeds (eg Medieval Studies, Healthcare Studies, History). Students may replace one MA module with a level 3 degree module from a wide list of subjects.
