Appointment of new Lecturer

Dr Jennifer CooperWe are delighted to announce the appointment of the Reverend Dr Jennifer Cooper, BA (Toronto), MA (Ottawa), DPhil (Oxon.), as a full-time Lecturer and Tutor at the College of the Resurrection with effect from early 2009. Dr Cooper will teach systematic and pastoral theology, and will have particular responsibility for student placements in pastoral and mission settings.

Ordained priest in 2007, Dr Cooper brings to the College a wealth of pastoral experience. She has served in parochial ministry both as a professed Religious and most recently as a member of the clergy. In addition, she has spent eight years working in student welfare, and a further eight years as Director of the Women in Crisis Project in the Diocese of Ottawa.

Dr Cooper is a member of the Faculty of Theology in the University of Oxford, and currently combines part-time work as a Lecturer in Theology at St Benet’s Hall Oxford with full-time parish ministry in the Diocese of Bristol. Prior to her present appointments, Dr Cooper held the posts of Liddon Research Fellow and Senior College Lecturer at Keble College Oxford.

Dr Cooper's theological interests span the areas of Christian doctrine and pastoral theology. She has a particular interest in twentieth century theology, especially in Christology, theological anthropology, sacramental theology, Vatican II, and the French ressourcement theologians. She is currently working on two books on the theology of Edward Schillebeeckx.
