Stations of the Cross

The staff and students of the College of the Resurrection offer these Stations of the Cross for you in your spiritual journey. The Stations are a traditional way of marking Lent and it is usual to gather with others, or alone, every Friday following Christ through his passion in the build up to Holy Week. Here is an opportunity to join with others through this website in marking Lent. However, there is great freedom and so some may want to use this resource every Friday as is customary, others may want to pray the Way of the Cross on a different day or more regularly. Still others may want to listen to one Station each day and combine it with longer, silent meditation. There are countless ways of using this resource and the hope of the students is that it will simply allow you to enter into the Pascal mystery with your heart afire with love for God.

These stations are available with sound, or in text form. The original images are in the Community Church of the Resurrection, Mirfield and are by Joseph Cribb. Substantial parts of the text have been taken from the Iona Community’s Eggs and Ashes by Ruth Burgess & Chris Polhill, Wild Goose publications.

Please also take some time to visit this website and learn more about who we are. Our MA and BA degree courses in Theology and Pastoral Studies are open to anyone wishing to study theology within the context of a praying community, either as a resident student or as an external student. The College has particular expertise in the field of liturgical study.
